Dear JCEDC Member,
Thank you for casting your vote, and congratulations to our three incumbent board members who will continue serving JCEDC and our county for another term: Bill Bomber, Veronica Meyer, and Randy Reeg.
2019 was an outstanding year. Juneau County had the lowest unemployment rate and highest labor participation rate in years. We are fortunate to have such diversity of industry here – enabling our communities to successfully ride out economic peaks and valleys. Our Inventors & Entrepreneurs Club continues to thrive, seeing over 200 participants in attendance last year alone, and the iLEAD Charter School doubled its enrollment. Entrepreneurial Bootcamps were provided for veterans and active military families, and also for local youth.
Our tourism & hospitality industry has been hard hit by the current travel restrictions, yet we expect it to be the first to recover as people want to get out and about in a safe way. Juneau County’s natural areas, parks and lakes are the perfect blend of leisure and social distancing. Even in the midst of this pandemic, we’re already seeing new opportunities emerge, and many of our businesses revamp their products/services to meet these new circumstances. We are redoubling our efforts to support these businesses and our local entrepreneurs as they navigate this new landscape.
We have missed seeing you in person for our 2020 Annual Meeting, but know we will be able to gather together again soon. Meanwhile, please enjoy the video messages and informational documents provided below.
Be Well & Stay Safe, Safer at Home!
Sincerely,
JCEDC Officers Board Members Staff
