Juneau County is made up of three small cities and several small villages. It is a predominantly rural area with a total population of just over 25,000 people. Juneau County supports many thriving businesses, there are approximately 40 manufacturing enterprises in the county. Nearly 200 retail establishments, offering a wide variety of goods, keeping their doors open year-round for residents and visitors alike. Rich soil, hard-working farmers, and abundant natural resources make agriculture one of the county's key industries. Corn, soybeans, cranberries, oats, sweet corn, and wheat are grown on more than 700 farms. Dairy and beef are the predominant livestock.
County residents have worked hard to maintain a balance between traditional business enterprise and tourism for economic growth.
