Relay For Life of Juneau County

Description: Relay For Life is the American Cancer Society signature activity. It offers everyone in the community an opportunity to participate in the fight against cancer. It has been described as a "huge compassionate support group"- a place where friends, family and loved ones join to celebrate survivorship and to honor those who have lost the battle. Relay For Life involves teams of 8-15 people who take turns walking or running around a track all night long.The Relay For Life of Juneau County is a truly wonderful event that brings together family, friends, and co-workers all throughout the community coming together in the fight against cancer. Opening Ceremony starts at 6:00pm on Friday, July 30, followed by the Survivor and Caregiver laps and reception. The Luminaria Ceremony takes place at 10:00pm. There will be food, entertainment, special speakers, basket raffles and live music all throughout the night. Closing ceremony will take place at 10:00am on Saturday, July 31st.

2nd Annual Poker Run & Family Fun Day

Description: Starting and ending in at Schultz Park in Elroy, this Poker Run is open to motorcycles, cars and trucks. Ride along in a group and enjoy the country side while making new friends. Take a ride through the countryside in this unique group Poker Run and help raise funds for the Friends & Family Cancer Foundation. The day will be completed with prizes, live music, food and more! 11th ANNUAL WATERFEST VENETIAN LIGHTS BOAT PARADE

Description: The 11th Annual Touchstone Energy Waterfest Venetian Lights Boat Parade, Saturday August 7th. Got a boat? Decorate it and enter the parade! The parade starts out from the bay at Dirty Turtle and will travel south along the Juneau County shoreline at sunset. A Dazzeling firework display will be set off at Castle Rock County Park to herald the end of the splendid evening voyage. If you just plan on being a spectator, be sure to come early and get a front row seat at the Castle Rock County Park. The businesses on the lake will be offering Waterfest specials and live music that evening. It's sure to be a fun-filled evening!

Elroy Lions Apple Dumpling Day Races

Description: Elroy is the center of three abandoned railroad beds that have all been converted to bike trails. These three trails are the Juneau County Omaha Trail, the Elroy-Sparta Trail, and the 400 Trail. The trails provide a great running surface, a nice amount of shade, and fantastic scenery for the runners. All runners will receive a race T-shirt, a free apple-dumpling, medals for the top finishers, as well as refreshments - fruit, water, sports drink, soda - at the end of the race.
