Petenwell Lake is the second largest inland lake in Wisconsin. The lake is 23,000+ acres over a 36 sq. mile area. It was created in 1948 by damming the Wisconsin River near Necedah. Its maximum depth is over 40' and is well-known for its excellent fishing and waterfowling. American eagles winter at the dam and can be observed daily during the season.  Get a high quality Petenwell Flowage area map here, a DNR map of the flowage here, and a map of Wilderness Park here.
